French Confit Jar

  • Nineteenth-century glazed confit pot from the south-west of France, with a yellow-ochre glaze to the inside.


    Originally used for cooking and storing food, the pot would have been buried in the cellar and the top sealed with a layer of fat.

    Condition: Free from any visible losses to the glaze, no cracks, one historic chip to base.
