Nineteenth-century glazed confit pot from the south-west of France, with a yellow-ochre glaze to the inside and top half of the pot, and elegant handles.
Originally used for cooking and storing food, the pot would have been buried in the cellar and the top sealed with a layer of fat.

Condition: Very minor losses to the glaze on the rim and handles, harline crack visible on the inside of the pot.
